R.I.P Sgt Ryan Russell

This is the second time I've had to post about a cop being killed in the line of duty. And once again my heart is broken. Sgt. Russel was an eleven year vetran of the OPP and was killed in a rather senseless way. He left behind his wife and his baby. Normally I would go on and on about how senseless this is and how we're supposed to love and take care of one another but it seems that is a waste of time. 

Sgt. Russell did NOT deserve to die. He was a good man--everyone who said anything about him had nothing sad or bad to say about him. Every picture showed his smile, his blue eyes dancing. And I cannot begin to imagine how heart broken his wife is. What will she tell their son?

I have one suggestion. Tell him how loving his father was. That his father was a great cop who always had a helping hand. Tell him, if he doesn't believe look at everyone who showed up to show their love and respect for one man--he was charged in protecting us, and died doing it.

RIP SGT Russell...if you're looking down you see just how much you are missed.
